Of Armenian origin, Michael was born Calcutta, India. He subsequently lived in Tehran, Iran and received primary education there. In 1960 Michael came to live in London and has remained here ever since. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Biochemistry from Surrey University. He was admitted as a Solicitor in November 1978 whereupon he was employed by a firm of solicitors in the West End of London until May 1985, when with his brother he founded Sookias & Sookias.
Michael is the head of the litigation department and works with his team in all contentious matters ranging from landlord and tenant disputes to multi million pound contractual and negligence claims.
He has a particular interest and specialty in international litigation and currently has a caseload which involves claims in Dubai, Turkey and France.
