Robert Sookias


Robert Sookias qualified as a Solicitor in 1983 and established Sookias & Sookias with his brother Michael in May 1985.  He is of Armenian origin and was born in Tehran, Iran. He moved to the UK in 1961. Robert studied Business Management before converting to Law and attending the College of Law in London.

Before qualifying as a Solicitor in March 1983, Robert worked as a property agent and played football at a semi-professional level.  As the Head of Property and Immigration departments, Robert has over 30 years’ experience in:


  • Commercial property transactions
  • Purchase and sales of commercial properties
  • Grants of commercial leases
  • Property aspects of M&A transactions
  • Residential sales and purchase of high value properties
  • Freehold enfranchisement and lease extensions, acting for tenants and landlords.


  • Immigration and nationality cases, including: investor, entrepreneur, sole representative, all points-based tiers, assisting clients setting up points-based and Sponsorship Management System, and assist them when they are refused by the Home Office.
  • Personal immigration, including: marriage, student, refugee, and asylum.
  • Nationality cases, including: assisting and successfully obtaining citizenship and registration for complex and difficult cases.
  • Assisting charities, churches, and missionary organisations in all types of immigration and nationality matters.

Robert has earned himself the reputation of being both commercial and caring in his approach to clients.  He is a member of the Law Society Property Section, the Immigration Law Practitioners Association, The Lawyers Christian Fellowship and a Committee Member of the Association of Christian Law Firms.

Robert’s wife Rosy works as the Office Manager within the Firm. They have three teenage boys. Robert speaks Armenian and Farsi.
